Who is CAP?
The Community Alliance for Preservation is
a community group formed due to the amount of concern in Rockingham County and
the City of Harrisonburg regarding the proposed loop road. Their goal is to protect
the quality of life in the area. The group's members have raised concerns about
the loop road and requested that the county prioritize the agricultural economy,
traffic concerns, managed growth, and protecting investments in home and property.

Work/Mission
CAP is currently focused on the impact of the proposed loop road on city and county residents. CAP's views relate to four main topics: Transportation, Agriculture & Environment, Development and Community. Instead of spending money on a loop road, we would like to see a stronger focus on fixing existing roads and intersections, preserving the agricultural economy, managed growth that takes advantage of the existing vacant buildings in Harrisonburg and the County, and protects the investments people have made in homes and property.
